Often unable to spend time with their family and friends, senior citizens across the country have felt isolated throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

But for some in Dallas living at various senior living centers, the show went on, even though they can no longer go to the theater.

The Bishop Arts Theatre Center has helped to turn parking lots into stages, KTVT reports.

“When COVID hit, of course, we all sheltered in place, but we were not going to abandon those seniors,” Executive Artistic Director Teresa Coleman Wash told the news outlet. “So we are really innovating in real time.”

“It means a lot to me, because there’s nothing I can do except go for a walk,” said resident and audience member Loretta Taylor. “It’s been rough. It’s been hard.”
